Costume Design

While I lived in Roanoke Virginia, I worked on a couple of shows with Roanoke Children's theatre. They liked to have at least one show each season that addressed important issues faced by teens or children. In 2015 I was hired as their costume designer for the show Eat" which portrayed how kids and teens can struggle with eating disorders for various reasons as well as societal pressure.

It was very important to the director that the young performers felt extra comfortable because of the heavy topic of this play. It was decided that the performers own clothes or favorite outfit, could help achieve this goal. As the costume designer, I worked closely with the performers and their parents to determine which of their own outfits would make the performer feel their best while serving it's double purpose as their costume for the show.
